Angel Reese had one of the most memorable rookie seasons in WNBA history, making the All-Star team and setting several records for rebounds and double-doubles.

The Chicago Sky rookie also nearly led her team to the playoffs in year one before a wrist injury sidelined her.

Reese helped the WNBA grow as a brand this season, generating ticket sales, television ratings and more, but she says it hasn't necessarily made her wealthy.

During an appearance at ComplexCon, Reese participated on a panel with interviewer Speedy Morman. Morman asked if the $2 million figure that had been reported as Reese's net worth was accurate, and the Sky star responded with her trademark candor.

Reese told Morman that the number was "way off," but also noted that she has been able to help her family and support her own lifestyle through the money she's made.

"I'm able to soon retire my mom. I can pay off my mortgage. My family, everybody's taken care of," said the former college basketball national champion.

"One thing about me: I have a really good circle around me, and I think that's really important."

Reese's comments about her net worth come after she made headlines last month by speaking about her WNBA salary.

"I just hope y'all know, the WNBA don't pay my bills at all," she said of the $73,439 she made this season as a rookie.

"I don't even think it pays one of my bills, literally."

Reese has been able to make money outside of basketball through endorsement deals, continuing a strong brand identity that she established during her college career at LSU.

Over the last two seasons, Reese was among the top NIL (name, image and likeness) earners in the country, regardless of gender and sport.

After winning the national title in 2023, Reese signed deals with companies like Reese's, Mielle, Good American, Tampax and Reebok.

The shoe company has already released a collection inspired by Reese, and plans to feature her as a top brand athlete with her own signature sneaker model.

As Reese continues to be a force in the basketball world, it's likely that she won't need to worry about money for a very long time.
