Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has shared her thoughts on the recent U.S. election, in which Donald Trump emerged victorious over Kamala Harris.

Trump is now set to become the United States' 47th president following his successful run, which saw him get 277 electoral votes—surpassing the 270 needed to win as of Wednesday morning.

The 78-year-old Republican is also just the second U.S. president to hold the position in nonconsecutive terms, joining Democrat Grover Cleveland who held office back in 1885 and 1893, per AP News.

After seeing the results on Wednesday morning, however, Reese didn't hide her disappointment.

"Woke up speechless…." the Sky star first posted on X before a follow-up tweet hours later in which she shared her displeasure. "I'm so disappointed in America….Some of you just couldn't selfishly put your pride aside huh??!?!?"

Reese added that she's "heartbroken" for every woman in the United States. Nonetheless, in another post, she tried to take an optimistic approach, saying that she'll "think positive" with the result.

"God is the best author and the best finisher. I'm just going to pray on this & think positive," the WNBA All-Star further stated.

In the lead-up to Election Day, Angel Reese encouraged her followers to vote. However, it is worth noting that she has not publicly announced where she leans politically.
