Teresa Weatherspoon has landed a new coaching job, albeit temporarily, while waiting for another WNBA opportunity.

SB Nation reported on Friday that Weatherspoon will be one of the six coaches in the Unrivaled, the new 3-on-3 basketball basketball league co-founded by WNBA superstars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart.

The Unrivaled coaching gig comes just a month after Chicago Sky fired Weatherspoon following a disappointing 13-27 record in Angel Reese's rookie season in the WNBA.

Reese, who was heartbroken when she learned about Weatherspoon's firing, was beaming with excitement when Unrivaled hired her first WNBA coach.

"BOOMSHOCKLAKAAAAA," she posted on X.

A reunion might be in the horizon as Reese is among the 32 WNBA players who are already confirmed to participate in the inaugural season of the women's 3-on-3 basketball tournament this winter.

That will be known on Nov. 20 when the selection process will be aired live on Unrivaled's YouTube channel.

Weatherspoon and the other five Unrivaled coaches will select from six pods which has six players each to comprise the six teams that will battle in the tournament.

The Unrivaled will tip-off on Jan. 17 and the games will air on TNT, TruTV, and MAX three nights a week.
