Angel Reese Deletes Social Media Account After Showing Off 'Inappropriate' Outfit

WNBA star Angel Reese has already made headlines once this week because of the outfit she wore on New Year's Eve. The rookie sensation for the Chicago Sky wore a plunging dress that sparked a debate on social media.  

Reese, the No. 7 pick from the 2024 WNBA Draft, didn't say anything about her New Year's Eve dress. She simply posted a brief video and a photo to show off her style. It didn't take long for people to debate whether or not it was a hypocritical move on her part. In the past, Reese has talked about being sexualized and bullied on social media. Some fans claim she made herself vulnerable to more criticism because of her latest post. 

"Angel Reese, who has complained about being sexualized, posted video and pics wearing almost nothing on Instagram," Clay Travis of OutKick said. "How can you claim you are oversexualized by the media AND post this?"

"I swear she be going viral for everything but basketball," one fan wrote on X. 

"Per usual she's half naked. But don't sexualize her," another fan commented. 

"Now don't anyone dare sexualize her," a third person said. 

Reese has not responded to the backlash she's receiving on Instagram and X. She did, however, delete one of her social media accounts. 

Basketball fans noticed that Reese deactivated her Instagram account on Friday. We can't say for sure if she deleted it because of the responses to her controversial dress. The timing is very interesting though. 

Of course, WNBA fans had a lot to say about Reese's latest move. 

"Deactivated just to come back tomorrow we don't care," one fan claimed. 

"The attention seeking will bring her back in a couple days. Attention seeking is a Disease," another fan predicted. 

"Good. She's obnoxious," a social media user said.

Reese had a stellar rookie season with the Sky, averaging 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. It's unfortunate that she's making headlines simply over a dress. 

As of now, Reese is expected to return to the hardwood on Jan. 17 for the start of Unrivaled. Fans will get to see how her great translates to 3-on-3 basketball. 

Will Reese return to Instagram before her Unrivaled debut? Only time will tell.
