The Dallas Cowboys are looking for a new head coach after they parted ways with Mike McCarthy on Monday.

The two sides opted to go their separate ways and McCarthy is already in demand since he had an interview with the Chicago Bears on Wednesday. Since he's a free agent, he was able to take the interview after the Cowboys rejected the Bears' request last week since McCarthy was still under contract.

McCarthy coached the Cowboys for five seasons, leading them to three 12-win seasons. Before that, he coached the Packers for 13 seasons and led them to a championship over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.

Aaron Rodgers, who was with McCarthy for all 13 of those seasons, saw the news about McCarthy's firing and wants everyone to know that he's a great coach.

"Hell of a ball coach, hell of a ball coach. What he did this year with the amount of injuries that they had, I thought was amazing," Rodgers said on the "Pat McAfee Show." "Hearing the guys talk about him, I wasn't surprised just because anybody who plays for Mike and gets to know him a little bit and gets to feel that great big heart that he's got, it's special."

McCarthy went 125-77-2 during his tenure as Packers head coach before finishing his Cowboys tenure with a 49-35 record. He's 11-11 in the playoffs for his career.

He'll have no shortage of coaching options for his next NFL gig considering the amount of success he has had as a head coach.

The Cowboys have already started their search for McCarthy's replacement and are scheduled to interview Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore on Friday, former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh on Saturday, and former Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier on Monday.
