There was a massive rumor last week that Michigan was preparing an NIL offer of $10.5 million over four years to Underwood. On3 was the first with the report.
It's unknown if Underwood is getting that exact number from Michigan but he's definitely cashing in on a big NIL check if he's flipping his commitment to Michigan.
Underwood is the top quarterback recruit and the top overall recruit in the 2025 recruiting class, per 247Sports composite rankings. He's a big-time get for Michigan since he'll more than likely be the quarterback of the future.
Michigan has had a down year in 2024 after winning the national title last season. Michigan is 5-5 heading into its last two games and still needs a win to clinch bowl eligibility.
The program's best chance for a win will be this Saturday against Northwestern since Michigan's final game of the regular season will be on November 30 against arch-rival Ohio State.
While Michigan has beaten Ohio State three seasons in a row, that streak will likely end this year since Ohio State is one of the top teams in the country and will be hosting Michigan in Columbus.
Meanwhile, this is a big recruiting loss for head coach Brian Kelly and LSU. LSU is also coming off a 27-16 loss against Florida last Saturday and is 6-4 heading into its last two games.
