The San Francisco 49ers thought all the drama surrounding Brandon Aiyuk would come to an end once they signed him to a $120 million contract extension. After all, he got exactly what he wanted.

Well, the 49ers were wrong. Aiyuk has been nothing but a major disappointment for the team - on and off the field - this season. From a production standpoint, he has been incredibly underwhelming. He has just 11 catches for 119 yards in three games. And yet, his behavior has somehow been worse.

Things took a turn for the worse at Friday's practice. Apparently, Aiyuk tried to practice in red shorts. Why is that a big deal? He knows very well that players must wear black shorts to practice.

49ers reporter Grant Cohn shared a video of Aiyuk and Shanahan talking at practice. It appears that Shanahan informed Aiyuk that he was wearing the wrong shorts.

Shortly after this chat ended, Aiyuk was seen kicking his shorts off. It was a pretty childish move from the former first-round pick.

Check it out:

After the 49ers finished practice on Friday, a reporter asked Shanahan if Aiyuk wore the wrong shorts.

"Yeah, he did," Shanahan replied. "Good question."

Shanahan was then asked if it's a punishable act from Aiyuk. He quickly shot that idea down, telling the media, "No, I wish I could wear different shorts."

At some point, Aiyuk will need to be an adult and show up for work with the right mindset.

The 49ers didn't pay Aiyuk to be a child. They paid him to be one of the building blocks on their team.

We'll see if Aiyuk can redeem himself this Sunday against the New England Patriots.
