Another one to come this weekend.

It's Friday, folks!

Apologies for the lack of full recap of last night's game, but...it's preseason, after all, so feel free to discuss that affair here.

The Bruins dropped a 5-2 decision to the New York Rangers in Manhattan on Thursday night, their second loss of the preseason to the blueshirts.

The Rangers iced a pretty NHL-heavy lineup (aside from between the pipes, though Jonathan Quick was good last season), while the Bruins mostly opted to continue their "show me what you've got" approach with their fringe players.

David Pastrnak (20:11), Charlie McAvoy (23:56), Pavel Zacha (19:21), and Nikita Zadorov (22:01) got good sweats in, though Zadorov looked quite rusty on the Brennan Othmann goal.

Brandon Bussi played all night for the B's, making 28 saves in defeat.

The Bruins' goals were scored by Brett Harrison and Mark Kastelic.

Up next for the B's is another day of practice on Friday, followed by a game in Philly on Saturday night.

Earlier on Thursday, Jim Montgomery mentioned that the team would be making a round of cuts soon, as to this point, Loke Johansson is the only guy to leave camp.

Montgomery also noted that he wasn't sure if those cuts would come before the weekend, so there's a chance that the roster remains the same through Saturday.

The guys vying for a roster spot have just four more chances to make their case, so expect the competition to heat up quite a bit over the next few days.

Other than that, we wait to see if someone blinks in the Jeremy Swayman negotiations and tell ourselves, with October looming, that everything will be fine, he'll be signed, etc.

IT'S FINE.

Anyways, what's on tap for today or the weekend? Anyone impress you (or the opposite) last night against the Rangers?
