Stamps Add Receivers To Camp Roster

The Calgary Stampeders have signed a pair of receivers – American Erik Brooks (Fresno State) and national Maxim Malenfant (University of Ottawa). Both players have been added to the Stamps' roster for rookie camp, which begins on May 8 at McMahon Stadium.

In 52 games at Fresno State, Brooks had 128 catches for 1,548 yards and 10 touchdowns, 20 punt returns for 172 yards and one kickoff return for 35 yards.

In 2023, the Irvine, Calif., product established career bests with the Bulldogs by accumulating 60 catches, 788 receiving yards and five touchdowns while earning all-Mountain West Conference honourable-mention recognition. He had 170 receiving yards and two touchdowns against Purdue and a season-high 11 catches for 104 yards at Arizona State.

Malenfant played 26 games over four seasons at Ottawa and had 37 career receptions for 404 yards and three touchdowns as well as 111 kickoff-return yards, 82 punt-return yards and 18 rushing yards.

In 2023, Malenfant led the Gee-Gees with three touchdown catches and he was second on the team in receptions (29) and receiving yards (266). His season included seven receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown in the season-opener against Waterloo and he also had majors against Carleton and Queen's. Malenfant is a two-time U Sports academic all-Canadian.
