1. Us

The 2-1 Stampeders enter Week 5 following a 22-19 OT thriller over the Blue Bombers last week. Demerio Houston led the way against his former team with seven tackles and an interception in the endzone in overtime that led to Rene Paredes' game-winning field goal. Unfortunately Houston suffered an injury in the game and will not play this week. Rookie DB Tyler Richardson will make his CFL regular season debut at corner Saturday night. The 25 year-old recorded an interception in the pre-season outing against the Bombers.

 2. Them

The Montreal Alouettes have been the class of the CFL so far this season entering the contest with a 4-0 record and a plus-54 point differential. Cody Fajardo is tied for the league lead in passing touchdowns through four weeks with eight. Last time out the Alouettes took down the Argonauts 30-20.

3. Head To Head

These two teams met twice last year with the Alouettes taking both contests by a combined 53-29 score. Calgary is looking to turn their record around in Montreal, as the Stampeders are 1-3 on the road against the Alouettes since 2017.

4. Fast Facts

Stamps linebacker Micah Awe needs just two tackles to hit 500 in his career.

Both teams have played stingy defence in the first month of the season as the Alouettes are allowing a league-low average of 18.3 points per game while the Stamps are second in the CFL and first in the West Division with an average of 23 points allowed.

Calgary is 0-1 on the road so far this season and 1-0 against East Division opponents. The Alouettes are 1-0 at home and 2-0 against the West.

Thanks to our Director of Communications Jean Lefebvre for handing off these facts!

7. Quotable

“I think they’ve earned the right to be considered the best team in the league right now; all three phases of their team are exceptional so it’s going to be a hell of a challenge for us, but we’re looking forward to it.” – QB Jake Maier on facing the 4-0 defending Grey Cup champions on Saturday.
