PGA Tour rookie William Mouw endured a grueling moment during the American Express tournament, recording an octuple bogey 13 on a par-5, an experience meticulously captured and shared by the PGA Tour.

William Mouw, a rookie on the PGA Tour, had a challenging moment to forget during the second round of the American Express tournament at the PGA West Stadium Course.

On the par-5 16th hole, Mouw posted an octuple bogey 13—a score rarely seen at the professional level. The trouble began when Mouw’s second shot veered left, landing in a greenside bunker infamous for its intimidating depth.

A difficult sequence of bunker shots and chips followed that saw Mouw repeatedly overshoot or fail to escape the sand entirely. After multiple attempts, he finally reached the green but needed two more putts to close out the hole.

His struggles continued on the 17th, where a triple bogey added to an already tough day, resulting in a round of 81—second worst in the field.

Adding to the sting, the PGA Tour documented Mouw's ordeal in detail on its social media channels. A replay of most of the shots was shared online, giving fans a look at every misstep. It’s tough to watch and perhaps it’s best if we all just forget about it.
