Watch Logan Paul drop a Conor McGregor line announcing his return to WWE

Logan Paul hasn't directly addressed rumors that he's in negotiations for a boxing exhibition against Conor McGregor, but he knew what he was doing while quoting one of the Irish superstar's most infamous lines while announcing his return to WWE on Wednesday.

During a special kickoff even as WWE Raw prepares to move to Netflix in January, Paul made an appearance to confirm his return to the ring after previously teasing his retirement following his last match with L.A. Knight at the WWE SummerSlam event back in August. As he announced his return, Paul knew what he was doing when he quoted McGregor while touting his plans for WWE starting in the New Year.

"If you have something that I want, I'm going to take it," Paul shouted. "I'm not asking permission. I am going to take it from you. I know some of y'all in the crowd, some of you at home are saying 'oh Logan Paul's a bully.' I see this narrative online. I can see it in your faces right now. Y'all look like cowards, you're pathetic. 'Logan Paul's a bully.' Yeah, I am a bully and the WWE is my playground.

"I'm not here to take part. I'm here to take over. Your approval means nothing to me. Whether you love me, whether you hate me, I don't care because you're still watching and you will stay watching because you are a spectator and I am a star."

Of course, McGregor famously shouted "we're not here to take part, we're here to take over" when addressing the rise of Irish fighters in the UFC following a win in his native Dublin back in 2014.

There's no chance Paul didn't use that line on purpose, especially with all the interest being shown in a potential boxing match against McGregor next year.

In addition to his career in WWE, Paul has dabbled in boxing ever since setting up a pair of fights against fellow social influencer KSI, who later became one of his closest friends when they launched Prime Energy Drinks together.

Paul took on undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather in a boxing exhibition back in 2021 with the fight generating more than 1 million pay-per-view buys. More recently, Paul earned a disqualification win over McGregor's friend and teammate Dillon Danis at an event in 2023.

Now perhaps Paul is beginning to tease that a boxing exhibition against McGregor might actually become a reality after quoting the former two-division UFC champion in his latest appearance in WWE.
