Marcin Tybura’s vicious ground-and-pound striking led to a stoppage against a previously unbeaten Jhonata Diniz.

On the UFC 309 prelims at Madison Square Garden in New York, Tybura (26-9 MMA, 13-8 UFC) returned to the win column after causing severe damage to the face of Diniz (8-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC). The TKO stoppage came by doctor intervention after the conclusion of Round 2.

Tybura reached full mount and rained down a series of vicious elbows to the face of Diniz, opening multiple cuts. With short time remaining in the second frame, Diniz did his best to reach up and mitigate the damage, but Tybura continued to connect with multiple elbow strikes.

Between rounds, the cageside doctor assessed Diniz, and determined he was not fit to continue. Diniz protested the stoppage, but there was no changing the decision.

With the win, Tybura bounced back from a loss to Serghei Spivac in August to pick up his second victory of 2024. Diniz walks away with the first loss of his professional career.
