Drake names his favorite UFC fighter after betting millions on big MMA events

Drake has explained why former UFC star Nate Diaz is his favorite fighter.
The Canadian rap star is known for betting (and losing) big money on combat sports events.
Drake’s wagers are wrong so often that a ridiculous rumor about him being ‘cursed’ has gained momentum.
Beyond the big-money bets, he’s just an MMA fan. The 38-year-old spoke with excitement when he was asked to name his all-time favorite UFC fighter during a stream on his KICK channel with Adin Ross on Thursday night.
Drake explains why Nate Diaz is his favorite fighter
Nate Diaz has never been the best in the world or won a UFC title – but MMA fans adore him.
The 39-year-old has lost 13 times during his 34-fight career, which has gone in a new direction since he ended his 15-year stay in the UFC after choking out Tony Ferguson last year.
Diaz is 1-1 in boxing bout with Jorge Masvidal and Jake Paul, who Drake lost $250,000 betting against when he outpointed the UFC legend over ten rounds in August 2023.
What’s next? No one knows, but you can be sure the ‘One Dance’ hitmaker will be tuning in to watch his favorite fighter.
“I'm going to answer this question strictly based on just somebody who, to me, is the most thorough,” Drake replied when asked to name his all-time favorite UFC fighter. “Like, you just can't get more thorough than this guy.
“I respect people that you are where you're from and nothing else can change you, the money, the wins, nothing. So, to me, it's Nate. That's my favorite fighter because Nate is just crazy through and through.
“Obviously, of course, I have other favorite fighters, I love Conor [McGregor] with all my heart, that's my guy.
“I'm talking about if they are rappers, who would I listen to? I'd listen to Nate and Conor. Nate is just one of those people. Nate is gonna Nate and that's it. I respect the Diaz Brothers, shout out to them.”
Joe Rogan offers to help Drake with UFC bets
During a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, music producer Scott Storch brought up 'Champagne Papi' and expressed an interest in collaborating with him.
"I really wanna work with Drake, but I've been roadblocked with Drake," Storch said. "I know Drake loves me and my production, but for whatever reason I haven't been able to get him."
The mere mention of Drake's name sent the UFC commentator off-topic.
Rogan immediately began talking about Drake's bad fight bets.
"I wanna get a hold of Drake and talk to him about his fight picks," he said.
"That motherf***er loses more money on fights [than anyone]. I wanna call him up."
Rogan's producer reminded his boss that the hip hop icon had recently won a big bet.
Drake backed a Jon Jones KO to the tune of $450,000 before the heavyweight champion squared off against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 in November.
Drake banked $954,000 when Jones floored his opponent with a spinning back kick to the stomach in the third round of their pay-per-view main event. Still, Rogan remained unimpressed by Drake's fight bets.
He added: "Wasn't Jon Jones a 600/1 favorite? That's what I would've said anyway. I mean, that's an easy bet."
