ROBBIE Fox has beaten Taylor Adams for the final spot in Sydney's preliminary final side.

Fox was today told he would be replacing hamstrung skipper Callum Mills in the Swans' best 23 to face Port Adelaide tomorrow night.

Adams was said to be extremely disappointed at being overlooked in his latest dose of September heartbreak after cruelly missing last year's preliminary final and eventual premiership with Collingwood through injury.

He has played 19 games in his debut season with the Swans, but was today told he had missed out. Adams was also dropped for Sydney's qualifying final win over GWS.

The midfielder was a member of Collingwood's losing 2018 Grand Final side and missed last year's flag after a hamstring complaint flared early in Grand Final week.
