Collingwood coach Craig McRae has revealed that Brody Mihocek will miss two to three weeks after injuring his hamstring in the 85-79 win over Carlton last Friday.

According to McRae, the key forward suffered the injury in the third quarter but didn't come from the ground at the time.

"We have Checkers who's done a hamstring and he'll miss probably two to three weeks," McRae told SEN The Run Home.

"Apparently, he did it in the third quarter and didn't come off.

"We said, 'Why didn't you come off?'. He goes, 'Oh, I don't know, I just didn't come off'.

"He's a crazy dude. He knew he'd done it and we found out straight after the game, I had no understanding that he actually had done it (during).

"But obviously it's enough to keep him out for a couple of weeks.

"He's going to be a big loss. We'll have to work our way through that, other guys will get some opportunities."

McRae also revealed that Tom Mitchell won't return for the Eagles game after missing the Carlton clash with a foot injury.

However this time, it won't be his foot keeping him sidelined with the veteran midfielder instead having appendicitis.

McRae says Mitchell is still recovering from the appendix issue in hospital.

"Tom Mitchell has appendicitis which has come on pretty strongly," McRae said.

"They thought about operating but I think they can get through with some antibiotics and the like, but he's still in hospital so he definitely won't play.

"You rock in a Monday all on your toes and you get the medical meeting. It's been quite good up until now, but today wasn't so good."

Collingwood will also be without Lachie Schultz (suspension) and Beau McCreery (concussion) for Sunday's clash against West Coast at Marvel Stadium.
