David King and Gerard Whateley have named the top four seeds after the first week of the 2024 AFL finals series.

With four teams remaining, the duo ranked those teams in order of who they're most confident in winning the flag.

See their seedings below: Number one is the team they're most confident in.

KING

1 - Sydney

"Sydney are only missing Mills, that's not going to correct.

"This is theirs right now. This is theirs to win."

2 - Geelong

"Two are the Cats.

"I just think that Chris Scott would be sitting back saying, 'We can do what the Giants were trying to do, but better. Our half forwards understand he had a slingshot and spit through stoppage and we won't get it wrong on Jesse Hogan, if we don't we'll make change … we won't beat ourselves'.

"We talked about giving him two weeks into the Port Adelaide game (to prepare), well guess what? He gets another two weeks into the Brisbane game.

"They'll be ready. I just feel like this is really opening up for the Cats.

"If they can get Stewart back into this lineup and in reasonable health and Jeremy Cameron goes crazy, who knows?"

3 - Brisbane

"At three I'm going Brisbane, they found a way to win in a chaotic game. There's some real credit in that.

"To come back from that margin, down 44 points, to win, they'll take a lot of confidence from that.

"But how they got there just sits front of mind to me."

4 - Port Adelaide

"Four is Port Adelaide, no surprises there.

"Well done and credit to get to this point. I just think you've exhausted everything on the weekend and I'm thinking the Swans will be ready for them next week."

WHATELEY

1 - Sydney

"They're the pole. They're the one seed."

2 - Geelong

3 - Brisbane

"I've got Brisbane at three, but I did hold that view that Brisbane's way through (to a Grand Final) was Geelong at the MCG.

"They should be ready to beat Geelong now. This is their third go in five years and they've been whacked in the other two.

"They should be ready for it now."

4 - Port Adelaide

"Port Adelaide. Salute to what they did against Hawthorn."
